- Refunds: All sales are final. No refunds, recompense, or compensation will be provided for tuition, summer programs, camps, competitions, or conventions. No exceptions.
- Force Majeure: No refunds or compensation are provided if db studios must change its method of instruction or close due to a Force Majeure event.
- Payments: All late or bounced payments will incur a $25 fine per incident.
- Competitions: All competition payments must be received prior to deadlines. No entries will be filed until payment is received in full.
- Gift Certificates: May not be redeemed for cash or transferred to another student.
2. Professional Boundaries & Non-Solicitation
By enrolling in any class at db studios, all adult students—including those employed as instructors or staff at other dance facilities—agree to the following:
- Non-Solicitation: Students shall not solicit, recruit, or entice any current students, families, or staff of db studios to join or work for another dance studio, private program, or competitive team.
- Restitution Clause: In the event of a breach of this non-solicitation policy, the student acknowledges that such actions cause material financial harm to db studios. The student agrees to pay db studios liquidated damages and restitution for the loss of business or staff. This includes, but is not limited to, the equivalent of one full season’s tuition for every student lost, or the recruitment and training costs for any staff member lost due to solicitation.
- Proprietary Rights: Use of db studios’ specific curriculum or choreography for the benefit of a competing business is strictly prohibited.
3. Studio Code of Conduct
db studios reserves the right to dismiss any student who does not follow our code of conduct. Students dismissed for violations will not receive a refund.
- INTEGRITY: To conduct oneself with honesty, courtesy, and respect. To lead by example and honor commitments.
- LEADERSHIP: To guide and influence others toward their highest goals. To inspire through full participation in all dance activities.
- RESPONSIBILITY: To respect studio policies and interact with peers and authority figures maturely. To address grievances directly with the person able to resolve the concern.
- CHARACTER: To avoid gossip, criticism, or denigrating comments regarding any member of the dance community. To face concerns with maturity and dignity.
- PROFESSIONALISM: To respect the dance profession and uphold our standards. To recognize oneself as a role model at all times.
4. Anti-Racism & Non-Discrimination
db studios does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our community.
5. Facility & Class Etiquette
- Footwear: No street shoes are allowed on the dance floor. Please change into dance shoes before walking on the floor.
- Tardiness: No student will be allowed in class if they are more than 15 minutes late; they will be asked to observe instead. Any student arriving late must check in at the front desk and wait until an exercise is finished before entering.
- Youth Programs: These are full-season commitments. Excessive tardiness or absence will result in the dancer forfeiting performance opportunities. Parents must pick up students no more than 15 minutes after class ends.
- Observation: Parents are not allowed to enter the studio when classes are in session. Please do not interrupt classes. If you wish to speak with an instructor, please schedule an appointment at the front desk.
- Behavior: Cliques, bullying, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Dancers behaving inappropriately will be asked to leave. Vandalism or destruction of property will result in immediate dismissal.
6. Practice Time & Standing Appointments
- Floor Time: All students must request practice floor time in advance. Do not assume availability for walk-in practice.
- Standing Appointments: Granted on a first-come, first-served basis and scheduled monthly. These are subject to change due to events or calendar shifts; no standing appointment is guaranteed.
By participating in db studios programs, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the policies and code of conduct outlined above.
